CADraughting was established in 2002 to provide a design and draughting service to manufacturing companies, as well as training and consultancy.
We have had the pleasure of working with a wide range of companies over the years and some of these can be seen on the clients page. CADraughting has worked with engineering companies, architects, process and food industry companies and building service engineers. We also help inventors and developers of new products get their ideas onto drawings or represented as 3D models.
CADraughting has recently achieved SAFEcontractor accreditation which ensures that if we work on your site we will observe appropriate and documented Health and Safety practices.
CADraughting is operated by Richard Martin. Richard has a long and varied background in design and draughting as well as training and consultancy.
Personal background
- Forging Die Designer working on turbine blades, for aerospace and industrial applications
- Design Draughtsman involved with gravity die casting moulds and special purpose machines for the battery manufacturing industry. Later, as Tooling Design Manager, involved with automation of repetitive parts of the Computer Aided Design process
- Chief Draughtsman with a small team helping to develop drill bits for oil and gas exploration. Prime mover in the introduction and management of 3D Computer Aided Design and Draughting
- Lecturer at Universities and Colleges teaching CAD, Design for Manufacture, Engineering Design, Advanced CAD Techniques, 3D Modelling and related programming languages. Autodesk Approved Instructor for Autodesk Inventor. CAD applications taught include AutoCAD, Inventor, SDRC Ideas, SolidWorks, AutoLisp and Architectural Desktop.
